This afternoon I decided I needed a walk after being cooped up for so long with the bad weather. So I grabbed my Sony with my long lens and my point and shoot camera and went for a walk around the neighbourhood. It was that wonderful time of the day when the sun had not set but was not far from doing so and the light was all amber and things looked beautiful. They call it the magic hour and some photographers will only go out then. I don’t have the luxury of doing that – but if I can I will go out then. As it is winter in New Zealand, we are getting the magic lighting between 4pm and about 4.45pm.
Dried up leaves.
Pink flowers.
A Norfolk pine with the setting sun leaving a golden glow on the water.
A dead flower was the perfect subject for the setting sun.
A cat spied me and decided to investigate what I was up to, and then demanded attention.
