My photo club went out to Motukarara on the Banks Peninsula to photograph the cross country run they have there every year. By far the highlight of the run (at least for the crowd watching) is the water slide the runners are forced to go down. It always provides some great photographic opportunities.

 

This is by far my favourite shot – this chap did the whole run with his dog. The dog looks to be having a lot of fun.

It’s great to see the effort people go to to dress up for this event.

Occasionally, I’ve had thoughts of entering the race myself. But after learning about how much horse manure is involved (the course in on a race track), I think I’ll pass. Plus, I’m not sure I could run 5kms at the moment – maybe 1 or 2, but 5 would be a challenge. I take my hat off to those that enter though!
