I’m into week two of documenting things I have learned during the week. I think one of the major things I have learned is that I very quickly forget about the things I have learned!
I spent a good part of the week away from home and travelling to visit relatives, so I was out of my normal routine. However, I still learned a few things (now I just have to remember them).
- There are fossils at All Day Bay which is near Kakanui but I can’t say if I actually saw them or was just looking at shells
- The road from All Day Bay back to State Highway One is suffering from a lot of erosion and needs to be saved, as the views along this road are breathtaking
- There are tuis in the Oamaru Botanic Gardens
- The best time to view the Daffodils in Lawrence is late September (I got there too early)
- I discovered a lovely cafe near the Oamaru Botanic Gardens
- There is a high risk of a New Zealand Wood pigeon flying into you at the Dunedin Botanic Gardens as there are so many of them there
- There are rosellas in the Dunedin Botanic Gardens and North East Valley
- I can make up a cup cake recipe from scratch and have it come out wonderfully (I made up a chocolate cup cake recipe)
