Lately, I’ve been trying to eat less red meat, so I’ve been eating more seafood and fish. One of my new favourite meals is super simple, quick, delicious and probably reasonably healthy (depends on what your opinion of noodles is). I decided to blog the meal so I could come back when I get stuck for ideas – as I often find I go through a stage of cooking the same things, then transition into another set of meals, then forget what I used to cook. So this is being filed under Meal Ideas for the benefit of me and for anyone who should be Google this as a recipe.
So it’s pretty simple – these are the ingredients minus the prawns which were in the pan already as I had the idea to blog the meal after cooking it – partly because it looked so good in the pan!
Ingredients: (for two people)
- Pre-cooked Prawns (250 grams should be about right)
- 3 tablespoons of Soy Sauce
- 3 tablespoons of Oyster Sauce
- 1 Packet of Hokkien Noodles
- Frozen Mixed Vegies (Chinese Stir Fry mix) – 1.5 cups should be about right
Instructions:
- Mix up the soy sauce and the Oyster Sauce
- Stir fry the prawns until lightly brown
- Remove prawns from the wok or frying pan
- Stir fry the veggies then add the lid onto them for them to steam a little (I find this makes the best stir fry)
- Add in the noodles
- Add in the sauces (previously mixed)
- Add in the prawns
- Stir fry everything for another few minutes so the sauce is well distributed
- Serve and enjoy!
This is basically the recipe from the back of the Hokkien Noodles pack (Trident brand).
It’s pretty popular with my chap. I’ve also made it with cubed salmon and that was also delicious.
