Some of the sparrows I’ve had visiting the bird feeder we have installed. The pair above are parent and child – as the little one with the seed in its mouth was making quite a display puffing itself out and demanding to be fed, as well as doing a little shaking shimmy thing. The mother or father would fly up to the feeder and fetch some seeds for it and then the little one would feed out of the parent’s mouth. I watched this for a while before deciding it was time to get a photo. Of course by the time I got the camera they weren’t behaving the same way. The photos were taken just as a storm was rolling in from the south.
