This is the North Island Kaka – a parrot that is native to New Zealand and a relative of the cheeky New Zealand kea parrot. I saw this one while visiting the Zealandia Sanctuary in Wellington. I highly recommend a visit to the sanctuary as not only is it a beautiful spot but you can see New Zealand wildlife up close including Tuataras and the very endangered Takahe (they have two of them but they are infertile).
